How to Give a Clear Flower Delivery Address in Chiang Mai

Thai addresses can confuse Maps. Learn how amphoe, tambon, and a Google Maps pin help flower delivery across Chiang Mai stay on time and keep bouquets fresher.

A clear flower delivery address in Chiang Mai often matters more than the bouquet itself. Written Thai addresses can be hard to map, especially outside the city centre—and every extra minute of searching keeps flowers in the heat.

This guide explains how Thai addresses are structured, why a Google Maps pin helps, and what details make hotel, condo, hospital, and home deliveries smoother.

For zones, fees, cut-off times, and wait rules, see our delivery policy. Ready to order? Browse the catalog or start from flower delivery in Chiang Mai. Ordering from overseas? See send flowers to Thailand from abroad.

Why written addresses are often unreliable

In Thailand, a correct-looking address can still confuse Google Maps.

Common issues include:

  • Translation differences — Thai and English spellings of the same place rarely match Google’s labels exactly
  • Shared numbering — several villages or projects may use similar house numbers
  • New developments — new housing projects may not appear clearly on Maps yet
  • Vague streets — some roads are only numbered (for example “Road 1”) with little extra context

Even when every line looks right, the driver may still need a landmark or pin to find the exact drop-off.

How Thai addresses are structured

A typical Chiang Mai-area address includes layers that matter for navigation:

  • Amphoe (district) — for example San Sai, Hang Dong, or Mae Rim (not only “Chiang Mai”)
  • Tambon (subdistrict) — such as San Sai Luang or Mueang Len (ตำบลเมืองเล็น)
  • Muban / village or housing project name — often the most important missing piece
  • Street and house number — after the village or project name

Without the village or housing project name, many addresses stay unclear because nearby areas share similar numbering systems.

Tip: If you only have a house number, Moo (หมู่), subdistrict, and district, add the project name or a nearby landmark whenever you can.

Why a Google Maps pin helps so much

A Google Maps pin does not have to sit on the exact front door. A nearby point that is easy to find is often enough, such as:

  • the village or project entrance
  • a nearby shop or convenience store
  • a temple, school, or clear landmark
  • the condo lobby or hotel porte-cochère

Share the pin in your order notes (or when we confirm the order in chat). Pair it with the written address so the driver has both a route and a readable destination name.

This matters even more in Chiang Mai’s heat. The longer a driver searches, the longer the bouquet stays outdoors. Car delivery usually protects flowers better than motorcycle delivery; either way, an accurate pin shortens the trip.

What to include for a smooth delivery

Before you pay, check that your order includes:

  • recipient full name
  • a local phone number for the recipient whenever possible
  • your own contact details (especially if you are ordering from abroad)
  • full address with district, subdistrict, and village or project name
  • a Google Maps pin or clear landmark
  • building access notes (gate code, lobby rules, parking, floor, room)

Hotels, condos, hospitals, and offices

Buildings with reception or security need slightly different details than a private home.

For hotels, condos, and hospitals:

  • give the guest or patient name exactly as registered
  • include a contact number for handover
  • if you do not know the room number, say clearly that flowers can be left at reception or a designated desk
  • add any note the front desk should attach to the bouquet

For offices, name the company, floor, and who should receive the flowers—and say if the delivery must be face-to-face.

If the recipient is unavailable

Drivers cannot wait indefinitely. Our standard expectation is about 15 minutes after arrival or successful contact, with a maximum on-site wait described in the delivery policy.

If delivery cannot be completed, flowers are usually returned to the shop. A second attempt may need an extra delivery fee.

To reduce the risk:

  • provide both your number and the recipient’s local number
  • confirm someone can accept the bouquet in the chosen time window
  • for surprises, arrange a backup person at reception or next door

Once the address is ready, choose the bouquet

With a clear pin and contact details, ordering online is the easy part.
